Frequently asked questions
Short, straight answers about what Fidexa does and what it costs.
Is Fidexa free?
Yes. Bookkeeping, automatic mileage tracking, receipt scanning, the digital business card, Analyze, the AI advisor and year-end exports for your CPA are free, with no limit. Premium ($9.99 a month or $89.99 a year, bought in the app) adds automatic bank sync — free for 7 days from your first linked bank — and Fidexa Pay.
Does Fidexa track mileage automatically?
Yes. The phone detects drives on its own and logs each one; you mark it business or personal. Trips are unlimited and free. Fidexa shows the IRS standard mileage rate (US) or the CRA rate (Canada) for reference and exports a mileage log as PDF or CSV.
Can I accept card payments on my iPhone?
Yes, with Tap to Pay on iPhone in Fidexa Pay. Customers tap a contactless card, Apple Pay or another digital wallet on your iPhone — no card reader needed. It needs an iPhone XS or later with the latest version of iOS, a business in the United States, and Fidexa Premium.
Can I take card payments on an Android phone?
Yes, with Tap to Pay on Android in Fidexa Pay. It needs a phone with NFC running Android 13 or later, with Google Play, a security update from the past 12 months, Developer options turned off, and a phone that is not rooted or modified.
What does Fidexa Pay cost?
Fidexa adds no fee of its own; Fidexa Pay is included with Premium. You pay the payment processor’s fee on each payment: 2.7% + $0.15 in person, 2.9% + $0.30 for an invoice paid by card, and 0.8%, max $5.00 for an invoice paid by bank transfer. Cards issued outside the US add 1.5%, and a disputed payment costs $15.00.
Can I send invoices?
Yes, with Fidexa Pay. You send an invoice with line items and sales tax; your customer opens it online and pays by card or straight from their bank account. When it is paid, the payment is recorded in your books and the customer gets a receipt.
When do I get the money?
Payments are processed by Stripe and paid out to your bank automatically, usually about 2 business days after each payment. Your first payout usually takes 7 to 14 days while your account is new.
Are payments recorded in my books automatically?
Yes. Every Fidexa Pay payment is recorded as income without typing anything. The processing fee is recorded as its own expense and sales tax is kept apart from income, so your profit and your tax report stay right.
Does Fidexa work in Canada?
Yes for bookkeeping, receipts, mileage and the business card: Fidexa uses CRA mileage rates for reference and exports your year grouped by T2125 lines. Fidexa Pay (card payments and invoices) is available only to businesses in the United States for now.
Is connecting my bank safe?
Bank access is read-only, through Plaid. Fidexa asks only for transactions and balances, never sees your banking password, and cannot move money. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is never used to train public AI models.
Can I give my accountant what they need at tax time?
Yes. Export the year as PDF or CSV, grouped by IRS Schedule C headings (US) or CRA T2125 lines (Canada), with a list of anything that still needs your review.
Does Fidexa calculate or file my taxes?
No. Fidexa keeps your income, expenses and mileage organized under the tax categories your preparer uses, so filing is faster, but it does not calculate the tax you owe or file a return.
What is the digital business card?
A business card you design in the app that people open by scanning its QR code. They see your card, can call, text or email you, save your contact, or save the card itself to their photos. It can also go in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It is free.
Can I run more than one business?
Yes. You can keep several businesses under one account, each with its own records.
Which devices does Fidexa run on?
iPhone and Android phones, from the App Store and Google Play. The website is for your account, your records and your digital card.
How does Fidexa compare with QuickBooks, MileIQ or Square?
We keep fair, sourced comparisons — including where those apps are the better choice.
Who makes Fidexa?
